Purple and Brown
Getting back to basics!
On Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th March 2007 at 9.30am Nickelodeon (UK) will premier 30 brand new minutes of Aardman’s stop-motion plasticine animation Purple and Brown.
Created by Nickelodeon UK and Oscar-winning Aardman Animations (Flushed Away, Chicken Run, Were-Rabbit and Wallace & Gromit), Purple and Brown are a collection of short films starring two side-splitting plasticine characters – the skits reminds me of early Muppet Show humor. Purple and Brown is a UK kids favourite and the critic’s best.
Unlike Flushed Away which had around 7 different writers, Purple and Brown animated shorts are written and directed by Aardman’s Richard Webber.
The spots can also be watched (sort of) on the Nickelodeon (UK) Web site – UNFORTUNATELY you must be located in the UK or EIRE in order to get access to the TurboNick UK online feed – regional viewing restrictions similar to DVDs. So, for more information go to the source… see the Aardman Animations Web site OR catch a few clips on YouTube.
