5D [Five Dimensions]
Designer Profiles + Open Dialogue
Design is everywhere: in your classroom, in your transit from home to school, at the club, at the movies, at the park, in your kitchen, and even on your body. Whether you realize it or not, you are constantly in dialogue with design. You can be literally so at the April 7 Open Dialogue between you and the people on the other end of design.
As our society continually faces new challenges within racial and cultural realms, it is especially necessary and beneficial to have designers who are driven by cultural perspectives and awareness, and who are fluent in the languages (literally and figuratively) of those cultures.
Thus, AADSA is welcoming five (5) local African American designers to discuss their roles and experiences as African American designers, and their design perspectives as they relate to culture.
After each designer provides his/her “profile,” the audience (you) will have the opportunity to converse with and ask questions of the panelists about various aspects of design.
