XAMPP

Been test driving various installations of blog and CMS systems and working with PHP… never had the need to do PHP because most of the requests for services were Flash/ASP/.NET. So far the best approach is to start up with a fresh batch install of XAMPP. It’s not that i’m going the lazy way… I’m just don’t have the time to go through the self-infliction of pain and misery of installing from scratch… I’ve used it for Windows and now for Mac at work. Tested out NucleusCMS and TYPO3 on it. TYPO3 is pretty robust almost overkill with the number of minute clickable events within the enviornment, can get busy at times. Going to test out Textpattern next… just seeing what else is out there. If they can get the install of PHP/MySQL/Apache to run smoothly that would help out in moving non-techy/coders from the design community. It’s slow progress with other things going on but it’s winning me over. Next step is looking into a CMS system for photos i.e. coppermine or other.
