Apparently Microsoft was wrong when they told the Department of Justice that you could not run Internet Explorer as a standalone web browser. Nowadays, we know otherwise. Download to your heart’s content.
All you need to do is download these ZIP packages, and unzip them. Once you do that, just double-click the iexplore.exe file, and you’re ready to go! This does not modify the registry at all, nor does it install any files anywhere else on your computer. It runs only from the files included in its own directory.
